Comics Round Up for: 13th March 2019

Hi Guys,

Back again after another break. I wish I could do this without any gaps but unfortunately I still have to earn a living for now and at times it takes up more time than usual.

I will try to keep this going without any breaks but that is all I can promise! Let's go!

Avengers - No Road Home #5 - Writer: Jim Zub, Mark Waid & Al Ewing, Artist: Sean Izaakse

This has not been a bad event for now but the last page of this issue was enough to get me more excited the before for this events next installment.

Yes, it seems Conan and The Scarlet Witch will team up!

If you have not been reading the book it is basically a group of Avengers fighting to stop Nyx who has just killed Olympus and it has Voyager at the heart of it who is trying to clean up the mess her dad Grandmaster created.

Naija Geek Says: A not so bad but awesome climatic scene 6/10

The life and death of Toyo Harada #1 - Writer:Joshua Dysart, Artist: Cafu

This book is crucial to the history of Valiant and as always with this imprint it is a bloody damn good read. I am invested in this universe and really want to see how far the writers will take this.

Harada is the classic example of a person doing what is best for the world but using terrible means to do so. The eternal question: the ends justify the means?

Should he win or should the "heroes" win? Either way there is no clean answer and I love such nuances in my books. We also get to see Harada's origin story and how he started down the path of global domination.

Great book.

Naija Geek Says: An impressive start 8/10

Punisher #9 - Writer:Matthew Rosenberg, Artist: Szymon Kudranski

There is no point in repeating myself in regards to this book. It is simply consistently good.

Punisher is bad ass and is killing the sh*t out of Hydra. We get to see a cool Taskmaster vs Punisher battle which ends predictably.

By the end of this issue, Frank is now loose in the streets of Bagalia.

Oh Dear.

Naija Geek Says: A solid 7.5/10 as usual

Superman #9 - Writer: Brian Bendis Artist: Ivan Reis

Bendis has my attention with this story, now normally I hate it when kids in comics are aged prematurely simply due to impatient writers and I feel the same here with Jon being pushed to his late teens but I am willing to hold judgement till the end.

I also love tales of Superman's future legacy and this tale touches on this as well.

This issue has Jon meeting the Crime Syndicate's version of his mum and is bound to get really interesting!

Naija Geek Says: An enjoyable 7/10
